Process

Early on, I explored botanical and garden books for inspiration, experimenting with textures and overlays to shape the visual identity. Some approaches obscured the illustration too much, so we refined the balance. In the end, we landed on a collage-style illustration that blends historical paintings, organic textures, and Christina’s photos into a rich, layered design.

Logo

Using Roslindale as the logo font struck the right chord—its simplicity is elevated by subtle Victorian details, reminiscent of what you’d find in a botanical book. The style aligned with Christina’s roots in ancient remedies while embracing modern online platforms to share her wealth of knowledge.

The logo itself reflects this balance, depicting a tree bending toward water, with a droplet shape that can be seen as a drop of water, a seed, or a leaf.

Design System

Along with Roslindale as the variable font for the logo and headers, we chose Anderson Grotesk to balance the design and give the branding a grounded, contemporary feel. The primary color palette revolves around earthy greens and browns, reinforcing the brand’s organic roots. For social media and packaging, we introduced a set of colorful swatches to bring vibrancy and versatility to the system.

Brand In Use

Layered throughout the print materials is the botanical Self Heal plant, Prunella—a medicinal herb known for its wide range of healing properties. We wove it into the branding to add depth and reinforce Wych’s Bloom’s connection to traditional herbal remedies.

For the overall design, we kept things clean and minimal, allowing the logo and product names to take center stage. The green and white palette reflects the natural, healing qualities of Christina’s work while keeping the design fresh and approachable.

Website

We set out to create a website that felt like stepping into Christina’s garden or kitchen—stocked with herbal knowledge, salves, and tinctures in the cabinet. Beyond capturing that atmosphere, our goal was to keep the site simple, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate, making it effortless for customers to shop from anywhere. On the backend, we set up secure payment processing and streamlined shipping to ensure a seamless experience for both Christina and her customers.
